Therapeutic Encounter

Service Description

A therapeutic encounter at The Tabletop Adventure is not intended to diagnose or to treat any psychological or physical health condition, and nothing contained in the content or/or services provided should be misconstrued as such. The content and/or services should also not be used to self-diagnose or self-treat any mental health, medical, or physical condition. A therapeutic encounter at The Tabletop Adventure is designed to allow players to have dedicated 1:1 time to utilize a Tabletop Roleplaying Game (TTRPG) session to learn about the game, explore issues such as (but not limited to) Academic Concerns, Antisocial Personality, Anxiety, Communication Problems, Depression, Emotional Intelligence, Self-Care/Compassion, Self-Esteem, Shame, Stress, and many associated issues. An open dialogue will exist and be ongoing between The Tabletop Adventure and the player on the tone of the session, what to explore, and ‘out of character’ discussions about how the player and characters in the game are reacting to or handling triggering or stressful issues of their own. If a player discusses their own personal issues or concerns, these may be discussed as well with the intention of ensuring The Tabletop Adventure is providing high quality services.

Cancellation Policy

Standard and Therapeutic sessions can be rescheduled if notice is provided at least two calendar days before the scheduled session (Events must be rescheduled within five calendar days before the scheduled session). Scheduled sessions (Standard and Therapeutic) need to be canceled at least five calendar days before scheduled session date or will be otherwise forfeit if they cannot make the session. Events need to be canceled at least 14 business days before scheduled session date or will be subject to a 25% fee of the original reservation amount. Events canceled within two calendar days of the scheduled event will be charged a 50% fee of the original amount. Events canceled on the day of the event will be ineligible for a refund.
